Using burlap for holiday decorating

If you are searching for a new twist on your holiday decorating, consider using burlap. It is easy to find and it goes a long way.

I purchased 7 yards of burlap from Hobby Lobby and used a 40% off coupon. So I paid $26 for it- Yay!

Measure 7″ from the edge and find a thread to pull. You will pull this thread out so that you have a straight edge and to prevent fraying.image

Continue working the thread out

Then cut along that line

Make a large floppy bow by looping the material back and forth. Twist a wire in the middle of the two series of loops and manipulate the loops away from the center to create fullness and put it on the top is your tree.image

Then criss cross the garland at a diagonal down your tree. The next piece will come from the opposite side of the tree and cross the first piece. You will want to line up your crosses image
